THE CALGARY WOMEN’S EMERGENCY SHELTER

The Calgary Women’s Emergency Shelter is focused on ending family violence and abuse in the lives of women, children, youth and men. Taking a Stand Against Family Violence in the community since 1974, the agency has helped more than 200,000 Calgarians build safe lives and healthy relationships. We are on the front lines to provide hope and support to some of the most vulnerable members of our community.

Though the Emergency Shelter is the cornerstone of the organization, it is “More than a Shelter”, serving approximately 15,000 clients each year through a number of innovative safety, healing and prevention programs.

As a registered charity, we are very thankful for the generosity of Calgarians, with nearly 50 per cent of our funding coming from non-government or private funding sources.

We welcome your questions and encourage you to get the support you need or to get involved with the Calgary Women’s Emergency Shelter.
